They're morphed: actress Trishna on net pictures
Close on the heels of a pornographic video clip involving two school students, a film actress Monday described as morphed a series of nude pictures purported to be hers that were circulating on the Internet.
Trisha has lodged a complained with the Chennai police that e-mails with attachments of video clips allegedly showing her taking off her clothes and having a bath are criss-crossing the Internet.
"I have lodged a complained with Chennai police as the morphed video emerged from there," Trisha told reporters here.
"Cyber crimes are increasing. The video is so sick. Since we are celebrities, such elements always try to target us," she claimed.
Chennai police are looking into the complaint of the actress. Posting obscene mails and pictures on the web is an offence under the Cyber Crime Act.
In a much publicized school episode in Delhi, two students filmed their sexual act through a camera phone and transmitted it by via MMS.
This has led to the arrest of three people, including the boy, an IIT student who was allegedly selling the MMS clip and the auction portal baazee.com CEO on which the clip was being sold on the Internet.
Surya is Ajith's fan
Looks like Ajith's fan club is increasing by the day.
After Silambarasan in Manmadhan, it's Surya's turn to play Ajith's fan. The latter in his movie Mayavi plays an ardent fan of Ajith.
In the movie, Surya does whatever an average always does. He goes to the extent of bursting crackers besides distributing sweets and food-packets on the day of the release of an Ajith film.
He even dresses up like Ajith for a couple of sequences.
This is indeed strange. For generally whenever a hero is portrayed as a fan of an actor on screen, it is usually as MGR's or Rajni's. But generally actors shy away from playing the fan of a contemporary actor.
But Surya by playing a fan of a competitor has indeed proved he is different among the young crop of actors.
Raghuvaran's no to films
Raghuvaran, who was granted divorce from his actress wife Rohini recently by the Madras High Court, has apparently been rejecting offers coming his way in Tamil and Telugu film industry.
Does that mean that the actor, who is known to hit the bottle and has also endured some drug problems, bidding good-bye to the industry? Or, conversely, are the producers fed up with his undisciplined ways?
The answer, apparently, is no.
According to sources close to the actor, Raghuvaran is regrouping himself now.
He has not bid good bye to the industry and would venture to do movies from the middle of next year.
He needs a break and he is taking it, says a source close to the actor.
Another Mallu girl for Cheran
Director turned actor Cheran introduced a Mallu girl Gopika to Kollywood through Autograph.
Thanks to the movie's success, Gopika has nearly half-a-dozen movie on her hand now.
But Cheran's fixation with Mallu girls does not seem to have ended. For his forthcoming film, Cheran is introducing yet another new face from Malluwood Padmapriya.
Cheran has an eye for talent and earthy beauty. The thing about Cheran's films is that he gives his heroines a good field for their acting talent to unfold.
So, Padmapriya seems to have got the best break possible in Tamil.
Hope she grabs the opportunity with alacrity like her compatriot Gopika did.
Shopping for success in Burma Baazar
Remember the movie Maya Bazaar? The movie released a few decades ago won great accolades and saw silver jubilee all across the State.
Exactly four decades after Maya Baazar is happening Burma Bazaar. Hold on Burma Bazaar is not a mythological movie.
It's 7G Rainbow Colony fame Ravi Krishna's movie to be directed by S J Stanley for Indian Theatres Production with actress Pooja as the heroine. The movie is apparently a remake of Telugu blockbuster Sathyam.
Ravi Krishna is shopping for more success through Burma Bazaar.
After Alai, it is Malai
Suddenly Silambarasan is the most happening actor in tinsel ville today.
Just the single success of Manmadhan has changed his fortunes overnight. Now he is the most sought after actor in town.
Silambarasan is now busy acting in Kalaipuli Dhanu's Thotti Jaya. He is slated to act in a movie titled AC to be directed by S J Suryah. By the next year-end Silambrasan will join together with actress Trisha for a movie titled Malai.
The duo had paired together for a movie titled Alai, which bombed at the box-office. P L Thenappan, who is busy churning out a couple of movies Kana Kandein and Priya Sagi, would produce Malai.
The coming together of Simbu and Trisha is interesting. She is, for all practical purposes, is the number one heroine in the industry. Simbu, on current form, seems to be the number one among young heroes.
So when these numero unos join forces, the expectations are bound to be high.
Rambha latest addition in Sukran
She was popularly called the girl with thunderous thighs. Rambha was one of the most sought after actress when she was riding the crest. But times have changed and young glamourous girls have occupied her place. To stay afloat in the industry she has now resorted to doing ‘item numbers’.
In the recent times with Azagiya Theeye, her single number shows continued in Chatrapathi and now the latest addition is Sukran featuring Vijay, Ravi Krishna and debutante Nathisha. The song sequence was recently shot in AVM Studios, Chennai.
Boys Bharath in Feburary 14
Boys Bharath is slowly and steadily making an indent into the young stars league. His performance in all of the four films he has featured in, has made the industry veterans look up and take notice of his talent. He now stars in Sri Saravana Creations’ Feburary 14. They had earlier produced Sullan. Renuka Menon from Malayalam will play his love interest. Pyramid Natarajan, Ravi Prakash, Janaki Sabesh, 7G Rainbow Colony fame Suman Shetty are among others in the cast.
S.P.Hocimin wields the megaphone and has also written the story, screen play and dialogues. He had earlier worked as an assistant to Shankar in Jeans, Indian and Mudalvan. R.Ratnavelu cranks the camera and Bharadwaj scores the music. Going by the name of the movie which happens to be Valentine’s Day, it is a fresh and youthful love story. Graphics will be used for the song sequence. The film is produced by Salem A. Chandrashekran and shooting for February 14 will commence next month. The shooting will take place in Chennai, Kerala and Ooty.
Ajith, the new 'Environmentalist'
Ajith, who had started to giving many statements, have reveled his latest wish. Just because of the word 'Statement' don't thinks this may be about something political. This is entirely a different matter.
Ajith met the press people at his Alwarpat office had revealed his long time wish then.
"I always wanted to sensitice my fans about the destruction of natural resources. I now realize that this is the right time to do that" "Here after any fans need not put cutouts to my films, and there is no need for this to pour liters of milk on my cutouts. The money spent to make a single cutout is more than enough to buy and plant 4 thousand sapplings. So I request my fans to plant trees in each and every street. This is not my order but humble request" By his request he had stunned everybody positively.
Ready to do glamour roles
The one best way to stay in contention for top spot in filmdom in Kollywood for heroines is to ooze glamour on screen. One actress has understood this well at an early stage of her career itself. This actress Kuty Radhika, played decent roles in her movies Iyyarkai and Varnajalam. However both failed at the box-office. Now, she says "I am ready to do glamour roles".
Asked for the reasons for her sudden U-turn, she says "I want to stay for a long time in the industry. One best way is to establish oneself playing glamour roles and later go on to some innovative roles. Actresses like Kushboo, Revathy and Radhika too played glamorous roles initially, she says.
Will Ji release for Pongal?
Ajith is keen on releasing his Ji for Pongal. The movie starring Trisha opposite him is directed by Lingusamy and produced by NIC Arts Chakravarthy. A few scenes involving Trisha needs to be completed. Unfortunately,she is now busy with her Telugu assignments. The production is worried whether Trisha would fly down to Chennai to complete the shots.
However, a confident Ajith said all troubles would be sorted out and the movie would certainly be released on Pongal.
Meanwhile, Ajith has his fans' clubs (recently converted into welfare associations) tied up with the civic agency Exnora to help in greening the State. To start with, Ajith's team will help plant some 100 saplings in the Thiruvanmiyur area of Chennai.
Ajith has also vowed to take the message of maintaining the ecological balance and the importance of planting trees to the public.
So it all a gimmick? A publicity stunt that Ajith seems to revel in? "No", Ajith retorts emphatically. What's wrong with my message, he asks in an injured point.
He sure has a case.
Shaam On the Ball
Shaam is keenly focussed on the prospects of his forthcoming release girivalam. The actor made an impressive debut acting alongside Simran and Jothika in 12B. He followed it with few big banners alongside popular actresses, yet nothing worked out to his favor.
Shaam says "I have pinned all hopes on Girivalam. It's certainly a make or break film for me. Hope it clicks to continue my presence here".
The movie, a remake of Akshay Khanna- Bobby Deol starrer Hamraaz, has Kadhal Virus fame Richard who playing the latter's role in Tamil while a new face Tanushree acts as his wife. Shaam steps in their family. The tussle between the three forms the story. Ramesh Khanna and Charlie are also in the cast. Deva scores the music. Shivraj who directed Sathyaraj's Adithadi directs Girivalam.
Madhubala as a lesbian!
In the new film 'Love, Sex, Etc', which was also going to be her comeback attempt, Madhubala plays a very controversial role of a lesbian.
Kalol Sen, a well known ad film maker, is the director of the film. The film is being made in English. The film's producers are planning to dub and release the film in Hindi and Tamil.
'Kabhi Socha Bhee Na Thaa' is the name of the film in Hindi. Leo Internationals is going to release the film in Tamil. Madhubala is Radhika, the central character of the film. According to initial reports, Madhubala looks extremely glamorous in the role.
A few years ago, Madhubala had got married and had taken a break from the film industry she now has a daughter from her marriage and unlike other actresses, she says that her marriage is very secure and that she had acted in the film with her husband's consent.
