What's in Chandramukhi
Rajnikanth is busy in Hyderabad with his movie Chandramukhi. Though the actor has not divulged any detail about the movie so far, taking part in the muhurat of the movie'sTelugu version, Rajnikanth has spoken a few things about what is in store in Chandramukhi.
Speaking at a grand function function in Hyderabad,Rajni said, "after a long gap I am joining hands with P Vasu. Chandramukhi will be a commercial entertainer that is sure to appeal to my fans. I play the role of a psychiatrist".
He also said that the operative element would be evolved fun in the movie. The comedy sequences with Vadivelu is said to be a highlight of the film.
Kamal on a rescue mission
Kamal Haasan is known for keeping things under wraps about his films until their release.
Right now, as everyone knows, he is busy with Mumbai Express.
However it is made known that Mumbai Express is a movie apparently about his mission in getting back his eight-year old son kidnapped by a gang.
Nasser plays a policeman in the Tamil version while Om Puri dons the role in Hindi.
The movie is slated for release on Tamil New Years day.
Sachin goes to Iceland
Vijay's forthcoming movie Sachin is being made at a brisk pace for Tamil New Year release.
A major portion of the film being directed by John, son of noted cinematographer Balu Mahendra, is completed.
Vijay has flown with the entire technician crew along with actress Boys Harini (Genelia) to Iceland where a couple of songs are to be shot.
It's for the first time that songs are being shot in Iceland for a Tamil movie.
Simran scotches rumors
Simran is busy acting in Kicha Vayadhu 16.
But is she not in the family way, the reason for which she walked out of the prestigious Chandramukhi?
Well, she says she is not.
Denying rumors that she is pregnant, Simran says, "I'm brimming with energy and vigor to prove my worth in the industry".
Simran says she can't be pregnant. But why? "When I am a brand ambassador for a soft drink company and appearing for their commercial, how can people spread rumors that I am in the family way".
'Anniyan' FIR (Final Information Report)
Thirty crores budget, Hundreds of Actors, Six long months of continuous shooting, One can say with conviction that this is perhaps the real Mega budget film produced so for in Tamil.
The film 'Anniyan' has created much more expectations than Shankar's films usually able to create. After the debacle of the film 'Boys', Shankar had recharged himself and had started doing this film. National Awardee Vikram joined with the highest paid director at the National level for the first time through this film.
Though the story is supposed to be based on National interest, the way Shankar filmed this story could express thousand more stories with in that.
In the stunt sequences taken at Chennai, Kilpack, Korean stuntmen were used for the first time. Like this, there are many more 'First time ever' in this film.
Everything is Ok.., when will the film get released?
Ninety percent of the work in film has been completed. There are few scenes connected with Vikram and few other scenes connected with Vikram and Prakash Raj, have to be completed yet. If Vikram can give 4 days, his part will be over. In the next month, the scenes with Prakash raj and Vikram are going to be taken. After that, everything will be completed for good.
Though the whole film is not completed as yet, post production work is on in full swing. All works will be completed before the month of May, and the film will be released on the month of May!
Since the film 'Chandramuki' is slotted to be released on April 14th, The producer of 'Anniyan', Oscars film Ravichandran do not want to take risk, That is why, he had postponed the date of release of the film 'Anniyan'.
Prashanth is a taxi driver now
It is too early to say whether Ayudham is a hit or not.
But its producers seem to be happy with Prashanth.
The producers C TV entertainment are again joining hands with Prashanth for their next movie titled Taxi Driver.
Margan, who worked as associate with director Gowtham, would direct the movie.
Interestingly, Prashanth's earlier movies Jeans and Jodi were also produced by C TV Entertainment.
Along with Taxi Driver, Prashanth is currently busy with half-a-dozen offers in Kollywood.
From glamour to horror
Actress Swarnamalya is busy on her comeback trail. After playing sister to Vijayakanth in Engal Anna, she took to glamour in Sorry Ennakku Kalyanam Ayiduchu alongside Sreeman.
Now the actress is all set act as the heroine in a horror movie titled Yaga. Well-known horror movie specialist Yaar Kannan is directing the movie.
Asked about this switch-over, Swarnamalya, she said, "what's wrong in doing these roles? After glamour, I am trying something new now. Interestingly I play the all-important role in the movie. Nothing wrong as long the offers keep coming".
And more than anything else, Swarnamalya would be happy see her name off from scandal sheets. That was the biggest horror for her.
Ilayaraaja to sing in Malayalam
Maestro Ilayaraaja has drastically reduced his assignments in Tamil and is now concentrating on languages like Malayalam. He is soon going to sing in a new Malayalam film.
This is not the first time that Ilayaraaja is composing music in Malayalam but many believe that this is the first time he is going to sing in the language. The film has a village-based subject so the producer had specifically requested Ilayaraaja to compose music for the film.
Tamil and Telugu film industry have not yet learnt to use this genius properly, but it looks as if our Malayalam counterparts have.

Simran quits films
After long speculations, Simran has decided to quit the film industry for ever.
Simran was the No 1 heroine when she got married to childhood sweetheart Deepak. She announced that she was not planning to quit the film industry. And, she sure did make a spectacular comeback. But, her pregnancy forced her to leave the film 'Chandramukhi'.
Now, she seems to have realized that it is not possible to travel in two boats at the same time. She is going to quit the film industry forever and accept the new role as a fulltime housewife and mother.
Simran's husband Deepak and his family is involved in garments export business. Simran is now going to concentrate on her husband's business.
B.Sarojadevi donates Rs.5 lakh
The veteran top actress of South India Padmabushan B.Sarojadevi met the Tamil Nadu chief minister her contemporary in Tamil cinema J.Jayalalithaa and handed over Rs.5 lakh cheque to the Chief Minister public fund towards the Tsunami victims recently in Chennai.
Madhavan’s proxy direction of Thambi
Madhavan is the next hero after Simbhu to do proxy directon. Thambi directed by Seeman is proxy directed by the hero. Each and every shot has to be okayed by Madhavan and Jeeva. The trouble started with Jeeva and Madhavan ganging up for the location hunt. After each shot the hero asks the cameraman for an okay and sidelines the director. This went on for many days. Finally at MGM beach resort a crowd scene was to be shot. Seeman asked the supplier to get girls with rich looking faces to stand in the background. When Madhavan came he took a look at the girls and asked whose idea it was. Hearing it was the director he got into the car and left in a huff.
Ji not for Republic day, too
Ji, the Ajith starrer was expected to be in Pongal race. But it backed out at the last moment.
Director Lingusamy was hoping for release on republic day. But now that also looks unlikely as a couple of songs starring Trisha and Ajith is still to be completed.
Ergo, another delay. And hope for release on the Valentine's Day.
Ji will grace theatres on February 14 along with Srikanth-Sonia Agrawal starrer Sathurangam.
