Chandramukhi, a feel good film: P Vasu
P Vasu is brimming with confidence these days.
Why would he not? After being in obscurity for several years and a sequence of no-brainer movies, Vasu is now in the thick of it. The director, wielding the megaphone for Chandramukhi, says "it would be a major milestone in his career.Audience will see Rajnikanth and Prabhu in refreshing roles".
Stating that it would not be a straight remake of Malayalam hit Manichitrathazhu, Vasu informed MohanKumars.Com, "Rajini's character is called Saravana and he plays a psychiatrist. Prabhu too has an important role which is totally different from what he has acted so far". Jothika is playing his ladylove. Simran, who is in the family way, has opted out of the film after shooting for three days.
"A jolly feel good film with Vadivelu playing the comedian along with Rajni at his humourous best is Chandramukhi", Vasu says with his eyes lighting up. A huge star cast including Malayalam actress Nayanathara, Malavika, Nasser, Kota Srinivasa Rao are also in the film.
Vasu says Simran was not thrown out of the film as the media has been saying. "It was an amicable parting of ways".

AR Rahman’s soulful music in Hindi Swades
AR Rahman is aptly called the Isai Puyal. Capturing Kollywood, Bollywood and Hollywood with his foot tapping music and beats is now looking for not just belting out popular numbers. He is looking out for giving music which touches ones soul and gives them a peace of mind. One of the toughest experiments he has recently tried is in Ashutosh Gowrikar’s Swades. Starring Shah Rukh Khan, Swadesis about a software engineer who is employed in NASA, USA. Mohan Barghav (Khan) travels to India to meet his grandmother. He uses all modes of transport like plane, train, bus, boat, bullock cart to reach the village. While traveling Barghav is pained to see so many people in India in poverty. This changes his frame of mind. Rahman thought the patriotic message in the movie has to be brought out with something new which will rekindle the audience’s patriotism without boring them with advice. He has composed a soulful, heart rendering music using only the flute which is like a breath of fresh air. Rahman says that if this music succeeds he is traveling in the right direction of composing music which touches ones heart. Incidentally, Rahman had composed music for Gowrikar’s earlier Oscar nominated Lagaan. The music of which turned out to be huge hit.

Thaka Dhimi Tha a musical treat

Controversies come together
Silmabarasan, after the success of Manmathan, is a much more relaxed person. But still controversies continue to dog him. The absence at Rajni daughter's wedding and the run-in with comedian Gounda Mani has ensured further headlines for him. On the other hand, director S J Suryah is also no stranger to troubles. In fact, he has made a career out of it. So when these trouble-chasers come together, the industry is bound to sit up and take not ice. Simbu and Suryah are reportedly in discussion to do a film together. If Manmathan and New are anything to go by, the content of the duo's film is not difficult to guess. Simbu is, meanwhile, elated with Manmathan doing brisk business at the box office. "I am overjoyed since my debut venture as scriptwriter has succeeded. My immediate attention is on Thotti Jaya. Following which I will act in a movie to be directed by S J Surya". Asked about Gounda Mani's charge that Simbu cut a major portion of his comedy sequences from the movie, the actor said, "few scenes were cut only to sustain the pace in the screenplay. Being a senior artiste himself, Gounda Mani should understand this".

Dhanush in Muruhan direction
Dhanush has been signed by Indian theatre productions for a film directed by Murugan. In case you are wondering who Murugan is then to refresh your memory he is credited of having directed Manmadhan. With Simbhu’s proxy direction the film’s director took a salaam and left. The film is doing well so the producer to soothe the wounded director has given him a project with Dhanush. Even though Puthukotayil was a flop the hero has only increased his price to Rs 3.5 crores. The only hero who increased his price after three flops. Indian Theatre productions has also signed Stanley who directed Puthukotayil for a film with Ravikrishna. Dhanush’s future two films are sure to be flops. The upcoming Balu film will be an art film while Devathey Kandeyean has a very boring story. Only a Selvaraghavan film Oru Naal Oru kanavu is of any use to Dhanush.

NTR harasses Sneha?
Sneha who has taken a vow that she will not do glamour has now landed up in trouble. Sneha was happy with her madisaar maami getup in Ayudham. She used to take two hours to dress up in madisaar. Now the actress shifted to Telugu where she has three films and all of them in homely roles. Sankaranthi with Venkay ( remake of Anandam with her doing the Devyani role),Bapu and Radhagopalam are other two films. She is also to do a malayalam film with Prabhu deva. The talented actress was recently offered a heroine role in Ravichandran’s Kannada film but she turned it down because of exposure . Next was NTR jr. He offered a film but she refused because she knew what kind of exposure she will have to do in his films. A besotted NTR is not leaving her alone and keeps sending messengers with plea to accept his film. Fearing his clout Sneha has decided to say good bye to Tollywood.

Vivek croons for Solli Adippen
Vivek debuting as a hero in Solli Adippen is old news but the latest news is that Vivek has lent his voice for a song in the film. The music is composed by Deva and penned by Kalaikumar. Vivek sings along with Deva. Deva commenting on the song said that there was no specific reason for Vivek rendering his voice. Since it was a funny song we thought that it was a good idea for Vivek to lend his voice says Deva to MohanKumars.Com. With a lot of talent hidden in his bag, guess Vivek is ready to make a splash in all quarters of the film.

Meera Jasmine yearns for good roles
Meera Jasmine ran away with many teenage hearts in her debut Tamil movie Run with Madhavan. She played a jolly rich girl in that movie. But after that she has not got many challenging roles in Tamil. Her favourite role is the one she played in Mani Ratnam’s Aaitha Ezhuthu. She portrays an intense lover of a rowdy. Talking to a vernacular magazine Meera Jasmine says she yearns for roles like the one she played in Aaitha Ezhuthu, Laila’s role in Pithamagan and the school girl’s role in Autograph. According to her, these kinds of roles are very rare to come by. Jogging back the memory lane, Meera says that her career in films was not a planned one and her family friend director Logidadass introduced her in Suthradaran. Her debut film with Dileep was a super hit. Instantly Meera became famous in Malayalam. Then came the most coveted award – National Award for her stealing performance in Paadam Onnu Vilabum. Having completed seven Malayalam movies Meera Jasmine is waiting to receive the award from President Abdul Kalam.
