Nayantara - Rajini’s pair in Chandramukhi?
She seems to be the luckiest of all the imports from Malyalam. We are talking about Nayantara who made her debut in Tamil in Ayyaa with Sarathkumar. And her second movie is with none other than the super star in Chandramukhi. In a recent interview to a vernacular magazine she says that being Rajini’s fan she always used to imitate the super star’s mannerism at home and when the offer came it was a sweat shock.
Doing her English Literature in Kerala, Nayantara used to do modeling for a hobby. Top Malayalam director Sathyan stumbled on her photographs and that was the birth of Nayantara, the star. He cast her in Manasin Akkarai opposite Jayaram. Then came Fasil’s Vismayeer Thunbathu with Mohan Lal and Shaji Kailash’s Naattu Raja. With all her three movies being blockbusters Nayantara meaning ‘star eyes’ suddenly became the darling of Kerala. Now she seems to be ready to capture the hearts of Tamil audience.
Karunanidhi’s dialogues for Mannin Mainthan
Mu.Karunanidhi and director Rama Narayanan are joining hands together for the third time for Mannin Mainthan starring Sathyaraj and Sibiraj. Their earlier two movies Veeran Veluthambi and Makkal Aanaiyital have been hits. Sathyaraj comes as a police officer and selection is going for the other artistes.
Mu.Karunanidhi has written the dialogues, lyrics and screen play for the movie and this is Rama Narayanan’s 112th directorial venture. He is also producing the film under the banner Azhagar Films. Baradwaj scores the music and N.K.Vishwanathan handles the camera. The shooting of Mannin Mainthan will commence shortly.
Shwetha ‘Miss India –Earth 2003’ in Dancer
Shwetha Vijay ‘Miss India –Earth 2003’ from Bollywood makes her debut in Tamil for an item number in Dancer. Director Kayaar is showcasing another hidden talent of one-legged wonder Kutti in the film. He performs all the fight sequences without a dupe. Super Subbarayan master has choreographed three fight sequences in the film for Kutty. “Recently a fight sequence was filmed in the Pondicherry beaches. People were awe-struck when they watched the speed and agility of Kutti on the bike chase scene while shooting”, said Kayaar.
Sex siren Bipasha Basu in Vijay’s Sachin
The list is never ending. She is yet another addition to the list of Mumbai girls sojourn to Kollywood. Bipasha is ready to follow her contemporaries like Simran, Jothika, Sushmita Sen, Isha Kopikkar and Sonali Bendre.
Having set the Bollywood screen on fire in movies like Ajnabee, Raaz, Jism and Rakht the sex siren is now going to set the screen on fire in Sachin and will pair with Vijay. Harini of Boys fame is another heroine in the film. Kalaipuli Dhanu is producing the film.
Simran silences rumours about pregnancy
Even though Kollywood was buzzing with the news about her pregnancy, Simran made a strong reentry into films after a brief hiatus. She is said to have accepted Kichaa Vayadu 16 because of its heroine oriented subject. But the most coveted role that was offered to her was to play the lead in the Rajini starrer Chandramukhi.
Talking to a vernacular daily in Chennai where she was shooting for a commercial, Simran said that all the news about her pregnancy was not true. She was proud to accept the lead role of Chandramukhi. She had seen the Kannada version Aapthamithra and realized that to play the role one has to do a lot of home work. Simran further adds that she is going to work hard to give her best shot. And she will be happy if she gets the State or the National award as recognition for her hard work.
Dhanush to wed Aishwarya Rajinikanth
The rumours were scorching for quite sometime. Though Dhanush has been repeatedly denying his romance with Aishwarya, it’s now out in the open. Yes, Dhanush is getting married to Aishwarya, the eldest daughter of superstar Rajinikanth. Their romance is ending in wedlock with their parents' approval.
The dream wedding will take place on the 18th November 2004, at Rajini’s Raghavendra Kalyana Mandapam, Chennai. All arrangements for the wedding are going on at a brisk pace. The muhurtam attire for both the bride and groom were purchased a couple of days back on an auspicious day. Dhanush is to make a formal announcement on his wedding in a short while from now – await for the video clippings.
Shah Rukh Khan’s Swades in Tamil
Shah Rukh Khan’s latest offering Swades is to be dubbed in Tamil. The film is directed by Ashutosh Gowarikar. Gayatri Joshi is cast opposite Khan. The dubbed version will be different in the sense A R Rahman will be recording the songs in Tamil language. “Though the tunes remain the same, the lyrics will be written in Tamil” Ram Mirchandani of UTV confirms. According to Mirchandani “Shah Rukh Khan may dub his portions in the Tamil version also”.
The Tamil version of Swades will be released simultaneously on December 17. Is Swades going to be in Telugu also? No says Mirchandani. They are at present looking at the Tamil audience.
Battle lines drawn for Vikram-Rajini
Come Tamil New Years day (April 14) movie goers will be in for a rare but ostentatious treat. It’s going to be a clash of the titans Rajini and Vikram. Now don’t get ideas. We are only mentioning that the release dates for their respective movies Chandramukhi and Anniyan falls on the same day.
Anniyan is racing against time now that the D day has been fixed whereas Chandramukhi had planned April 14th their release day from the very beginning. While both directors Shankar and P.Vasu are straining to emerge winners it is definitely going to be a visual treat for the audience.
